Was on my way to do some field work on Tuesday and this weather was coming in our direction.

I am a tree. You will never be As tall as me. Up up up I go My branches swaying in the wind Just so I relish in the afternoon breeze As I listen to the buzz of the bees. Many animals make their home in me. The little bird, The snake, Wait a minute..… Continue reading I am a Tree
Sometimes it's nice to get away and take a hike through the forest. You get to witness nature at its best on these trails. If you're lucky you might even see some wildlife peeking out from behind a tree. And the great thing about it is that the trails usually lead to a nice beach,… Continue reading Take a Hike, Enjoy Nature
That's exactly how today started off. Rain started to fall around 4 a.m. The morning was dreary and bleak. It was the type of morning where you would rather just stay in bed. Or huddle under a blanket like these two. Thankfully it wasnt like this all day. The sun decided to come out around… Continue reading Cold

... the "macro" feature is no longer necessary to get shots of the entire plant. My plants have graduated from very small to not so small. They are growing.. slowly but surely. I also set a Soapberry seed but it hasn't germinated yet so we'll see how that goes.

This was on the 4th September. The leaves got a little bigger by the 5th September … Continue reading My Mgambo Tree Journey: New Leaves

Botanical Name: Majidea zanguebarica or Majidea zangueberica (It appears both ways online.) The word Mgambo is Swahili for "announcement"… Continue reading A Little About Mgambo Trees (Majidea zanguebarica)
So... I decided to plant this tree that has beautiful black velvety seeds in pods that are red on the inside. After about 2 weeks sitting in the soil, my seed sent out his little radicle and began his journey to be a big tree. Stay tuned for more updates on this amazing journey!
