I’ve had two Amaryllis lilies for years and they never bloomed. They were in a small pot and I transplanted them to a larger one. They always produced very healthy-looking long leaves but never any flowers. It even sent out a baby shoot but still no flowers.
Some time ago I found that some of the leaves were looking battered, probably from them being too close and touching the hot wall so I trimmed them. One of them looked like it didn’t handle the trim too well but I see something coming up so maybe it will survive.
Yesterday when I was leaving for work I noticed a very tall flower shoot. I was completely surprised because I didn’t notice it when it started growing in the first place.
So after about 10 years, my lily has a flower.
Will post more photos as it opens
